Regenerative Medicine

MJRI Center for Regenerative Medicine

Our regenerative clinic is appointment-only and located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The MJRI Center for Regenerative Medicine offers advanced, non-surgical orthopedic treatments designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help delay or avoid surgery when appropriate. Our biologic therapies are performed by physicians with deep expertise in musculoskeletal care and guided by careful patient selection.

Unlike many regenerative clinics, MJRI’s program exists within a comprehensive orthopedic practice. This allows us to provide honest guidance, clear alternatives when biologic treatment is unlikely to be effective, and seamless transition to surgical care when needed.

Our Biologic Treatment Options

Advanced and Effective Therapies
How PRP Works
PRP uses a concentrated portion of your own blood containing platelets and growth factors that support healing and reduce inflammation in joints, tendons, and soft tissues.

How PRP Is Performed
A small blood sample is drawn and processed in a centrifuge. The platelet-rich portion is then injected precisely into the target area using ultrasound guidance.
How BMAC Works
BMAC is an autologous biologic treatment derived from bone marrow, containing stem and progenitor cells along with growth factors. It is typically used for more advanced joint degeneration or for patients seeking a more aggressive non-surgical option.

How BMAC Is Performed
Bone marrow is gently aspirated, processed on the same day, and injected into the target joint under ultrasound guidance.
How Lipogems Works
Lipogems uses minimally processed adipose (fat) tissue to provide a biologic scaffold and signaling environment that may help reduce inflammation and support joint function.

How Lipogems Is Performed
Fat is harvested using local anesthesia, processed using a closed mechanical system, and injected into the target joint under ultrasound guidance. This is an office-based procedure.
How Ozone Works
Ozone therapy uses a precise medical ozone-oxygen mixture as a biologic stimulus. It may promote anti-inflammatory effects, improve oxygen utilization, and support local healing responses.

How Ozone Is Performed
Ozone is injected into the joint or surrounding tissues using ultrasound guidance. It may be used alone or in combination with other biologic treatments.
Image Guided Precision

All injections are performed using ultrasound guidance, allowing real-time visualization of joints, tendons, and surrounding structures. This improves accuracy, safety, and consistency of treatment.

Joints and Conditions We Treat

Not all conditions are appropriate for biologic treatment. A consultation is required to determine candidacy.
